At Driftmango and MangoAmp, we engineer privacy-first Android software. We believe music players, utilities, and indie games must respect device resources and user confidentiality.
1. Google Play Data Safety Declarations
- Zero Data Exfiltration: We never harvest, sell, license, or monetize your personal information, music library telemetry, or contact records.
- Local Audio & Direct Server Communication: MangoAmp connects strictly to your self-hosted Subsonic/Navidrome server or local storage. Audio streams and credential tokens are never routed through Driftmango proxies.
- No Ad Trackers: Our apps contain zero advertising networks, tracking SDKs, or invasive behavioral analytics.
2. Android Permissions Disclosures
Specific permissions requested by MangoAmp and why they are necessary:
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK: Required to maintain uninterrupted background playback via AndroidX Media3 when the screen is locked or another app is focused.
- RECORD_AUDIO (Optional): Required by the Android Visualizer DSP engine to compute real-time FFT spectrum analyzer and oscilloscope curves. No audio is ever recorded, saved to disk, or transmitted off your device.
- BLUETOOTH_CONNECT: Used exclusively to detect connected headphone hardware (e.g. Sony, Sennheiser, Audio-Technica) to automatically apply matched frequency response compensation from the integrated AutoEq database.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required on Android 13+ to display playback controls, seekbars, and album cover art on the lockscreen and notification drawer.
3. Bug Reports & Community Feedback
When you submit an anomaly or feature request through our portal or via email to dev@driftmango.org, the information you provide (device model, Android version, audio sink, bug description) is used solely by our engineering team to reproduce and patch the issue in future releases.
